In the Beginning

The world is spherical and spins around the Sun in a cluster of celestial bodies known as the Solar System.

There are probably a couple of physicist just itching to correct me on that. But we'll ignore them for now.

In light of these revelations of the universe, however, it seems hard to believe than anything we humans (a rather silly species, on the whole) do is worth documenting. Especially on the internet. And yet, I plan to persist in writing this blog (re: silly species).

This blog does not claim to explain why humanity is so fascinated with the abstract world created by clever bits of code and impressively streamlined hardware. Nor will it explain how any of this could possibly be important in the face of the aforementioned theories about our planet and the scale at which we humans exist. It may, however, explain why mathematicians never seem comfortable in large crowds, where fluid physicists go to get their tans, and, in the end, just what it is that environmental engineers do.

It's a scientist's blog, after all. More to the point, it is an engineer's blog. And if you squint really hard, you might even see hints of a closet mathematician.

Enjoy what you find here. I hope, in the end, it provides some measure of entertainment and enlightenment to those who are interested. At the very least, it'll be useful to me as a place to organize my ideas and my projects.
